Flora and Fauna
so, since i’ve been here, the only things i’ve seen alive other than people are:
jackals, which look like a cross between a fox and a coyote. i don’t like them. they cry and sound like kids.
a rabbit.
fish in the saddam made lakes around me.
turtles in the lakes too
birds. lots of them
a beetle
and a levantine viper. yeah. wasn’t nice to see that thing.
UPDATE:! geckos. i see geckos all the damn time. they’re light tan and move quick!

viper? yikes!
at least you don’t have a cobra chasing you through your hut or tigers stalking you along the fence line (as happened to one of the old timers I used to work with when he was deployed to an area near you back in the day).

In 8th grade, I was in the “Viper” group…which is something to raise school spirit or some crap like that. I thought a viper was a dinosaur…I was making an f’d up contraction of “velociraptor”.
My english teacher thought I was a moron. I then killed her first born.
