Yup: "Nationalized Health Care, courtesy the Liberal government:"
For every one of those stories about other countries' nat'l health care goof-ups, I can find one about our system. In this case:
"L.A. launches probe into dumping of homeless
Ambulances were seen leaving recently discharged patients on the streets"
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15402554/

Mlah: "so you make my point gus. obama voted the same as mcangry. mcangry is business as usual, ergo, odamnya is as well."
Only because your "point" is so wide as to be completely meaningless. What is your fucking point? If it's that Obama won't really be Change, yes, he will be very different from Bush, so he'll be Change by definition. Get over it. If your point is that young people shouldn't vote for him because he didn't support a cap on credit, well, I dunno the details of that, but he was in agreement w/ every Republican senator including McCain, so that doesn't really help young people or anyone else decide between the 2 of them in November.

It's very interesting how the election is being so closely watched. I was in a pub in Rome over the weekend and some Aussie wanted to engage me in a discussion of U.S. politics. I tried to talk about substantial issues like our support for the independence of Kosova (which really really pissed off Russia) and the political crisis in Kenya (which could destabilize the HOA and have severe repercussions in Southern Africa), and all he wanted to know was whether I liked Obama as president.

Sheesh. Obama is a politician. His background is local politics, and he cannot treat national and international politics in the same manner. He needs to get himself some expert handlers to do the foreign policy, as he has shown some real gaffes on the campaign trail. He will not be able to deliver on all of his campaign promises -- no presidential candidate can do so -- and he will quickly learn that his comrades in the Senate and across the Hill in the House will not cooperate when he becomes President. Unless he really wants to destroy the Constitutional separation of powers and castrate the Presidency by handing all decision-making powers to the Congress.

Yes, I do believe it's looking like President Obama. I am excited by the possibility if only to prove to the American people -- and the Europeans -- that Jim Crow and the legacy of racism are more dead in the U.S. that any other place on the planet. I mean seriously, a black Commerce Secretary, a black National Security Advisor, and a black Secretary of State have not been enough to convince people that racism is not the major social issue that it once was. Will a black President do so, or will people continue to cling to their illusions?

And even if Obama does not win, we are looking at a truly historical presidency, with the other two major candidates being a Womyn and a Prisoner-of-War. Will McCain be elected? Doubt it. He just doesn't have the support base. Will Hillary be elected. God, I hope not. We don't need another Clinton in the White House any time soon. But if she is, simply change the name and substitute Womyn for black in the above paragraph on Obama.

This election is getting the young people interested, at least. My baggers at the Commissary were arguing about Ron Paul. They were supporters, and believe that he would be able to fulfill his promise of bringing the troops home from Iraq. As if. I really don't believe any of the candidates could do so, without bringing them home from Kosova and Bosnia as well. Not to mention Korea, Afghanistan, Japan and Germany.

As for nationalized healthcare, the American people have been convinced by the Democrats and a duplicitous MSM that they need the government to handle such parts of their lives. Look forward to Canadian- and British-style public health systems. Prepare to fly to India for commercial health care.
