Newton's 3rd law does not take into account space time fabric bending. What you are talking about is the cornerstone of rocketry. You can see more of that in another of Newton's laws whicvh is commonly shortened to F = mass ** acceleration. But that is an approximation. You have more terms to that law which are normally zero in earth bound low velocity instances. Let us not forget another term for wind resistance, another term for buoyancy, and still yet another for changing mass.

But when talking science fiction, or science theory, they are not applicable.

In any event, as no particle was used for propulsion, no stoppage will occur when a warp drive is turned off.

Now true, you could use a 'reverse' warp drive to stop your ship, but my case about the miniscule amount of time you would have to make your decision stands. If you are chasing me at a distance of a mere couple of hundred thousand Km, And I drop out of warp, from say wapr 8, I doubt that electrical impulses in your brain would have time to travel to your muscles to tell them to initiate your dropping out of warp before you had passed me by an immense distance for sublight speed. And that is assuming instantaneous decision making by you.

You would fly by at a huge distance in less than a nanosecond.

Actually, you have a grave misunderstanding of physics. What do you mean? Well...I'm glad you asked. Isaac Newton's Third Law of Motion states- " For Every Action, There is an Equal and Opposite Reaction." Therefore, if you used a method of propulsion to move you through space then that same method that is used to MOVE you will also be used to STOP you. A good example is a DC electric motor. Suppose , for example, you throw a switch on a DC Motor, what happens? It turns as long you have the proper voltage battery or other source connected properly to the motor, it will turn in the direction that is stated. Let's call this direction clockwise. Ok, we have that established. Now suppose, on this same exact motor you disconnect the wires and switch the polarity. What happens? You guessed it. it spins counterclockwise. This is exactly what happens in electric motor braking. Which has been used for the last 100 years! No kidding. And this is an example of how you would brake using warp drive in space. That is if it is found to be possible, which I belive a form of it is.

This post reminds me of my thought process while under the influence of weed. Not that I do that anymore, but this is totally shit I'd think about. It makes entirely more sense when you're high.

on a completely unrelated note, why do i have to type my name & shit if i'm logged into wordpress? ungh.
