seems i may have accidentally blacklisted some of you recently. if this is true, please believe it was unintentional. send me an email to let me know the message you get when you are denied.

i recently added some regex entries to my blacklist to block the gambling trackback pings. i don’t know how yet that has resulted in some of you getting blocked.

i added ‘holdem, poker, gambling, casino, and blackjack to a regex string in my blacklist.

works like a champ! i didn’t know it was blocking some of you though.

i’m working to fix it.

now, even my own comments get rejected as spam.

'The Sword of Islam

western colonialism.

i expect of youngsters who have not been to college, or traveled much to rely on the meagre history taught in public school.

but for a college student, or a student of the world, i expect them to be able to look past the facade of the myth of western evil.

i see this same belief in the ‘simple’ manifest itself normally in one of two ways.

My Mom

'69 Camaro SS

my mom has 6 sisters and 7 brothers.

yeah, i have packs of cousins i’ve met only once, or never even met.

my mom’s side of the family is heavy irish. and we’re from oklahoma. so everytime i see ‘far and away’ with tom cruise and nicole (she’s so hot) kidman, i have a really good laugh.

i actually said out loud in the theater ‘they’re on a quest to be okies?!’.

it is a pretty state.

Scimitar and a Djinn

it’s an arabic word.

taqqiya is the concept of doublespeak. kind of like a double entendre. but with taqqiya, it is specifically the skill of double speaking to infidels to deceive them. to get them to drop their guard. to bring about the circumstances allowing you to take advantage of them.

want some examples?

If I Could Be…

Filed under: Humor — mlah @ 9:11 pm

i got this fram dana at noteitposts

Immediately following there is a list of 20 different occupations. You must select at least 5 of them (feel free to select more). You may add more if you like to your list before you pass it on (after you select 5 of the items as it was passed to you). Each one begins with If I could be. Of the 5 you selected, you are to finish each phrase with what you would do as a member of that profession.

For example, if the selected occupation was linguist, you might take the phrase If I could be a linguist I would learn Hebrew, Greek, Russian, Italian and Chinese. See how easy that is? Here’s the list:

If I could be a scientist
If I could be a farmer
If I could be a musician
If I could be a doctor
If I could be a painter
If I could be a gardener
If I could be a missionary
If I could be a chef
If I could be an architect
If I could be a linguist
If I could be a psychologist
If I could be a librarian
If I could be an athlete
If I could be a lawyer
If I could be an innkeeper
If I could be a professor
If I could be a writer
If I could be a llama-rider
If I could be a bonnie pirate
If I could be an astronaut
If I could be a politician

Teutonic Knight

Pope Benedict.

a new pope.

i remember the last two. both john paul i, and john paul ii.

i don’t really remember who john paul i replaced though.

but i’ve noticed something interesting about the rhetoric from the left. i was reading madame butterfly, as i frequently do and some comments about progress made being lost really piqued my interest.

who are we to change religion.

so last week the instructor for tkd went on spring break. he took his daughter with him, and she is the assistant instructor.

he left the class in the capable hands of the senior students.

so last week, all week, both the adult and the childrens classes were run by red/black belt students.

before he left, the instructor left instructions as to who was going to teach, and i was on the list. that’s just fine. i’m only visiting this school, they do different forms. it was ok for me to help, so long as one of the other lead students was here to run class.

the government is considering lifting the ban on silicon implants.

now to most people this doesn’t matter. and it doesn’t really matter to me either, but we had a little discussion today at work.

and i thought i’d share.

yeah, i didn’t post a pic with this entry because it was just toooooo easy!

UPDATE: the FDA narrowly voted to keep silicon on the illegal list.

The view outside of my front door

this morning i worked for osc (object sciences corporation). this afternoon, i got sold to saic (Science Applications International Corporation). so i’ve been shaking my ass all day long, not that anyone has noticed. the sale of osc to saic isn’t final until may, so i guess i really work for osc for another month or so.

danyka, the girl watching my house for me, let me know that there was a small 2 alarm affair at my house over the weekend, but that the damage was minimal.

tkd was a good workout tonight, for a change. but 9 rolled around, and i was ready for more. it felt like it was 8:30.

i saw 2 beee you teeful women over the weekend. yeah, there are 2 good looking girls on base.

i’m going to try and go barracuda fishing this weekend.

life goes on. i have a promising dvd in my hand for an upcoming kung fu theatre when i get home. i’ll let y’all know if it is any good.

i’m thinking hard about upgrading my blog to moveable type 3. i’ve got to find a way to more effectively beat my spam comments (not talking about gus. he may be misguided, but he is not a spambot) and trackback pings.

the pic is the view right outside of my little rental gitmo apartment.

oh, and i had NO idea that daylight savings time jumped ahead an hour over the weekend. i was an hour late to work this morning. they schooled me. i was not the only one either. my rental car does not have a radio (i miss the monsoon in my little vw soooo badly). and i watched no tv over the weekend either. how am i supposed to know when to set my clock?
