  1. “37. “I Melt With You” by Modern English (1982) – the epitome of punk. yeah, i like it”
Punk?! Are you high?! You mean New Wave, right?

I must take serious issue with your endorsement of “One Night in Bangkok”, “The Safety Dance” & “Puttin’ on the Ritz”. Those are the worst kind of revolting dreck. They are manifestations of The Devil himself! I vomit in your general direction.

  2. I thought 1 hit wonders meant that the group or singer only had 1 hit, literally. A lot of these songs I can remember being their one big hit, but not necessarily the only hit…
Like Billy Ray Cyrus…no matter how irritating his music turned out to be, he had more than one hit.

Macarena was annoying after a while, but I gotta admit when I was in Spain, I was all about the Macarena.

Tainted Love-One of my ALL TIME FAVORITES!! I heard it on Freedom Radio (our one radio station with American music) last night.

Bitter Sweet Symphony is a good one too…

And you don’t know “It’s Raining Men”?? …it’s raining men, hallelujah, it’s raining men, amen…good chick song for when you walk into a bar or something.

    Just a Friend by Bizmarkie…that was a rap type song… oh baby…you……got what I need….but you say he’s just a friend….but you say he’s just a friend….

Yeah, this stuff is bringing back memories…

    Thanks for the post, MLAH!

  3. punk – new wave. i can’t really hear the difference.

i have an orchestral version of one night in bangkok. it rocks.!

blondie, just a friend sounds good! i remember that one. i think vh1 used some criteria of an artist having a ‘hit’ in billboards top 10, and no others or something like that. they kept talking about how high a hit would go, how long it stayed there…. blah blah.

i’m still amazed at lovefull by the cradigans. i could go with one hit wonder, just i would have said favorite game was the hit.
